Who are you?

New style, slightly inspired by old comics and animations. (This new style I've called "Cartoon Mystic".) Originally a doodle from my new art class' sketchbook...

Who are we? Who am I? I am at a point where I am in a daze. Last year of school, don't even know where I want to go, what I want to do. I have no idea for the future. It doesn't exist. I just want today to last forever, but it won't. I have no direction right now. If I could just have one person beside me, to love, to be someone's special someone, then that would be all I need.... If I could just tell him...

People often use the image of the road, the journey as a metaphor for life... I think a more appropriate image would be swimming in the middle of the ocean. There's nothing to guide you, either direction is foward, just depends on which way you're swimming. Nothing forseeable in the distance, nothing you can count on in back of you. It's frightening to the point of dread. It's liberating to the point of loneliness... I guess you just have to swim.
